Craft a custom ringtone using GarageBand, turning your dog's bark into a hilarious alert or your child's giggles into a heartwarming notification. No matter your style, changing your iPhone ringtone is a snap, letting your phone's sound reflect your unique personality and ring with joy with every call and text. But we can't do it and use it as tone on an iPhone we have to make it, so today we are going to show you how to turn any music into an iPhone tone. Then you can use that tone for anything like ring tone, message tone, alarm tone, reminder tone, or any other tone.

You need the audio file you want to use as a tone to do that. (It's okay if it’s a full audio song or a clip of an audio file.)

Also, you need the GarageBand app on your iPhone. If you do not have it, Download it.

Step 01

Download the audio file from your phone. Save it on your iCloud Drive or file folder. If it’s a song, you can add it to your music using iTunes. You can choose a song that you want as a ringtone.

Step 02

Open the GarageBand app. If you don't have the app, download and run it.

Step 03

Go to the “Audio Recorder” section. Click to enter the recording section.

Step 04

On the Audio Recorder section, click the small bars to exit from the settings audio input and output section.

First, disable “Metronome.”

Hit the “+” icon. In “Section A," turn on “Automatic.”

Step 05

Now ready to add an audio file, click the ohrm shape icon.

Find your audio file section, hold it, and drag and drop it to the dashboard. If it's in the music section, hold the file and drag and drop it to the dashboard. The audio file must be placed at the beginning of the dashboard.

Step 06

You can crop the audio file for a specific range. To do that, select the audio file on the dashboard and bring both ends to the specific section you want.

Then bring the audio file to the very beginning dashboard. You can hit the play button for a preview of your audio file.

Step 07

Now click the down arrow and click “My song.” It will be saved to your iCloud Drive.

Step 08

Hold the file that you saved on iCloud Drive, then click “Share” from the drop-down menu. Then click "Ringtone.” (This step only can be done through the Garageband, otherwise, you can't.)

“Your Audion file must be 30sec or less, otherwise it will automatically shortened to 30sec.”

Click “Continue.” Give a name for the tone, then click “Export." It will be saved to the tone list.

Step 09

After exporting, click “Use sound as..." to change the tone now.

You can change it at any time from “Settings => Sounds & Haptics.”

Extra

If you like to create your own soundtrack and use it as your ringtone, use any other section on GarageBand. When it's done, continue from “Step 07," and then you can create your own soundtrack as a tone.
