How to Manage Facebook Tagging Settings
“Tagging me is annoying."
“How to stop tagging me on the posts?”
“Allow only a few to see posts you’ve
tagged.”
“Do not show any posts that tag me.”
“Stop tagging me.”
Facebook tagging is
a feature that allows you to associate people, places, or things with a post,
photo, or video. When you tag someone, a link is created to their profile, and
they’re notified that they’ve been tagged. It's a good feature to identify
people in photos, share credit for a post or photo or something, invite people
to an event, or inform them that you're both interested. We all use this feature,
and we all know those things, but the bad thing is that sometimes it is
annoying because there may be a lot of tagging notifications or wrong tagging.
So as a solution for this problem, here I am going to show you how to stop or
limit the tagging so that it will not show on the profile or others can't see
that you have tagged in.
Step 01
First, you have to log in to the Facebook profile where you want to modify the tagging settings.
Step 02
After you log in to
the profile, "click" the
profile logo on the right top corner.
Step 03
Then click “Settings & Privacy.”
Step 04
After that, click “Settings.”
Step 05
It will take you to
the settings page. On that page, on the left side under the settings menu,
click “Profile and Tagging.”
Step 06
The Profile and
Tagging Settings page will load on the right side after you click “Profile and Tagging.” On that page, the “Tagging” settings and “Reviewing” settings are the ones we
have to change.
Tagging
Step 07
Who can see posts you're tagged in on your profile?
You can change the
audience of the people who see posts you're tagged in on your profile. It means
that when someone tags you and posts on your profile, your friends and others
who you allow can see that post. From here, you can change those settings.

Whoever visits your
Facebook profile with or without an account can see the post that you're tagged
in.
Friends of Friends
You and your friends

Friends

you're tagged. Select the friend(s), then click “Save Changes.”
Only me
By clicking this,
you are the only one who can see the posts you're tagged in.
Custom
Custom is for you to
select a group of people who you want to see the post you're tagged in, and you
can also select a few people who you do not want to see the post you're tagged
in. To set the settings, click "Custom.”
(1) Here you have to
select a person or a list of people who you want to see the post you're tagged
in;
(2) here you have to
select a few people who you do not want to see the post you're tagged in. Then
click “Save” to save the settings.
Step 08
When you're tagged in a post, who do you want to add to
the audience of the post if they can't already see it?
When someone tags
you in a post and posts it on their wall, You can manage the audience from your
friend list to that post from here.
Friends
You can add all your
friends to that list, and then they can see the post that you're tagged in.
Only me
Selecting this means
that no one on your friends list can see the post in which you are tagged.
Custom
You can manage
specified friends or people on the list who can see the post or not. When you
select here, it will show you the Settings page.
(1) Here you can add
people or lists who can see the post you are tagged with.
(2) Here you can add
people or lists who you do not want to see that post you are tagged.
Reviewing
Step 09
Review posts you're tagged in before the post appears on
your profile
By enabling this
feature for every post that you tag and post on your profile, you can review
that post before it appears on your profile.
Step 10
Review tags people add to your posts before the tags
appear on Facebook?
You can review the
tags that you are tagged with before the tags appear on Facebook.
Remember: Here, only you can manage the tagging and
reviewing. It means others can see the post even if you block tagging, but they
cannot see the tag.
